We will also provide the necessary communications equipment and configure the service. Both plans offer optional ISDN failover or backup facilities to decrease the risk of Internet disconnections.

So how does DSL work? It's very simple: The DSL router shares an ordinary telephone line (your fax line). A special device ("line filter") is installed on the line; it separates the signal between the telephone and DSL router. Unlike traditional modems, both the telephone and DSL router can be used simultaneously. The DSL router is "always-on", meaning no phone call charges to the Internet service.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

To have fast internet for web browsing and email is great, but the real advantage of broadband is a VPN. A Virtual Private Network allows you to securely connect remote users and offices together, to be part of your computer network.

These remote users will be able to run server based applications and even print to networked printers as though they were in the office. The ability to access accounting systems or contact databases from remote sites ensures all users have access to the same information. This helps keep databases up to date and allows for centralised management of these resources.

Using your existing DSL equipment, a VPN router is implemented and configured to accept information from another VPN router. This will ensure the exclusion of other internet traffic. The VPN network can allow for a number of VPN routers, or roaming VPN clients operating on laptops.

A dial up modem connection is a starting point for those who are new on the internet. It is also great for those who need to work from home or access the internet temporarily from remote point anywhere around the world.
